Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 26, 2026
This policy is written in plain language to be easy to understand. It describes how CouchTrain handles your information.
CouchTrain (“CouchTrain,” “we,” “us”), a service operated by Ardent Marketing, provides a simple sign-up tool that lets people organize visits, meals, and help after a new baby. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using CouchTrain, you agree to this policy.
Who this policy is for
There are two kinds of people who use CouchTrain:
- Organizers — people who create an account and set up a couch train.
- Visitors — friends and family who open a shared link and sign up for a day. Visitors do not create an account.
Information we collect
From organizers
- Your email address (used to sign you in and to send notifications).
- The details you enter for your couch train — its title, an optional name it's for, dates, a welcome note, and the email address where you want sign-up notifications sent.
From visitors
- The name, contact detail (a phone number or email), and any optional note you provide when you sign up for a day. This information is shared with the organizer of that couch train so they can coordinate with you.
Automatically
- Basic technical information such as your IP address and device/browser type, and essential cookies that keep organizers signed in. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
- Anonymous usage measurements — for example, how many people opened a couch train page or completed a sign-up — so we can see what's working and improve the service. These records contain no personal information and are not used to identify or profile anyone.
How we use information
- To operate the service — creating trains, showing calendars, and recording sign-ups.
- To sign organizers in with one-time magic links.
- To email organizers when someone signs up for their couch train.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
- To respond to your questions or requests.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
How information is shared
- With the organizer. When you sign up as a visitor, your name, contact, and note are shown to that couch train's organizer.
- With service providers who help us run CouchTrain, only as needed: our database and authentication provider (Supabase), our email provider (Resend), and our hosting provider (Vercel).
- For legal reasons, if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of people using the service.
Organizers' responsibility for guest information
If you are an organizer, the sign-up information your guests provide is shared with you to help you coordinate visits. You agree to use it only for that purpose and to handle it respectfully.
Data retention
We keep a couch train and its sign-ups while it is active. When an organizer deletes a couch train, its sign-ups are permanently removed. You may ask us to delete your account or information at any time (see below).
Security
We use reputable providers and reasonable measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe.
Children
CouchTrain is intended for adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. (While couch trains are often about a new baby, the people using the service are the adults organizing and signing up.)
Your choices and rights
You may request to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Organizers can edit or delete their trains directly, and can free up any day to remove a visitor's sign-up. For any other request, email us at the address below and we'll help.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify organizers.
